Duties:

• Fills in for the SPL in his absence.

• Takes on assigned tasks given by the SPL or SM.

• Assists the SPL and PL's in maintaining Troop discipline at all Troop functions.

• Helps train and guide the PL's.

• He is also responsible for training and giving direction to the Quartermaster, Scribe, Troop Historian, Librarian, and Instructors.

Qualifications:

• Appointed by the SPL with the SM's consent.

• First Class rank or higher.

• Be a member of the Troop for at least six months.

• Have attended at least one long-term camp.

• Demonstrate consistent attendance at Troop meetings and monthly campouts.

• Demonstrate active progress toward the next rank or earn additional merit badges.

• Agree to attend District or Council-level training courses designed to help him serve in his office.

• Scoutmaster(s) can amend the qualifications for this position at any time.
