Duties:

• Works with a Cub Scout den as a guide.

• Helps Cub Scouts earn achievements.

• Helps the Cub Scouts be leaders and sets a good example.

• Recruits Cub Scouts into the Troop.

Qualifications:

• Is appointed by the SM.

• Must be Second Class.

• Be a member of the Troop for at least Three months.

• Have attended at least three monthly campouts.

• Demonstrate consistent attendance at Troop meetings and monthly campouts.

• Demonstrate active progress toward the next rank or earn additional merit badges.

• Is strongly encouraged to attend training at the annual POW WOW, to obtain a copy of the Den Chief Handbook, and to work toward the Den Chief Award.

• Scoutmaster(s) can amend the qualifications for this position at anytime.
